White Zombie After 13 years of being together, two major releases and what could only be another success, there won't be another White Zombie album. On Tuesday the band got together for a conference call and on Wednesday the band publicly announced they have come to an end. The band has said it was a mutual decision and in an interview with Rob by All Star Magazine he had this to say "We owe [Geffen] a bunch of records,but we don't have any unreleased live stuff or leftover tracks, and, a greatest hits [album] makes sense if you have 20 albums, but we don't. I don't really want to milk it like a lot of people do." Zombie says there's really not much behind the group's breakup other than "it was just time to move on. I didn't want to stick around and bang out more records because the money was good, It wasn't like one big thing that ended it. It was just a logical conclusion that kind of wound down. I've always believed that everything dictates its own kind of end, and it was very obvious that we were ending." Bassist Sean Yseult told Mtv News "It came as a surprise to me, but it was a mutual decision. We started this band so long ago and this decision is for the best. It is better to do it now. I feel bad for fans who've been asking about our next album. The touring and the fans were the best part of being in White Zombie." As for what the band members will do now. Of course for Rob along, his solo release Hellbilly is a major success and he will begin his world tour on October 6 in the US with Fear Factory and Monster Magnet. For his European tour there are talks about opening up for Marilyn Manson. White Zombie drummer John Tempesta played on Rob's solo album and will be along for the tour. Sean Yseult will be continuing on with her band Famous Monsters. They have their debut album coming out October 20 titled "In the Night." And as for guitarist Jay Yuenger, we have no word on his next project.

PANTERA: Contrary to our original report, the band didn't start recording on September 1. A posting on Concrete Management's (Pantera's management) website stated;  They are spending this time upgrading the equipment in the studio. Looks like they will officially begin sometime in November after Philip is finished with the House of Shock. For those of who don't know - It is an amazing haunted house that Philip & about 100 of his close friends have every year during the month of October. This will be the 6th year!! The address is 4951 River Road, Jefferson, LA. Check out the website for more info. (www.houseofshock.com)  Vinnie, Dime & Rex have been keeping busy in Dallas. They have been hard at work with David Allen Coe. They have 7 completed songs and are working on some more. No word yet on who will release this project or when.

Slayer and Sepultura will begin their tour of Europe early November. We have heard System of a Down and Entombed will be joining them.

Marilyn Manson's US tour is scheduled to begin on Oct. 27 and their European tour will begin on November 27 in Spain. We have heard Rob Zombie will be opening for Manson in Europe, but this has not been confirmed.

Black Sabbath will kick off their world tour on New Year's Eve in Los Angeles. The new album "Reunion" is due October 20 and there will be a 12 city US Album signing tour to coincide with the release. We have heard unconfirmed reports that Black Sabbath will play a secret gig somewhere in the US on October 20.

Jerry Cantrell is taking his solo act back on the road. He and his band will be headlining 23 dates throughout October. Check tour info below for dates.

Powerman 5000 are currently working on their next album, due out in early 1999.

Immolation new album "Failures for Gods" will be released early next year.

King?s X and Galactic Cowboys will hit the road in the US starting October 7 and running through mid November. Check tour info below for the dates.

Cannibal Corpse is on to Europe for a month and a half of shows after they wrap up their US tour today. Dark Funeral and Infernal Majesty will join them for the tour that kicks off October 4, check our page for dates.

Neurosis has canceled their west coast tour. No word on why or if they will make up the shows. They are also scheduled to start recording a new album on Relapse Records very soon.

The Dillinger Escape Plan: Bass player Adam Doll was involved in a car accident late in the summer which has left him paralyzed. The extent of his injuries and impending recovery remain uncertain at this moment. The band and friends have created the A*DOLL Foundation to raise money to assist Adam's family in paying for hospital bills and rehabilitation.

Exhumed will be releasing a new album titled "Gore Metal" on October 27.

Amorphis is currently writing new material with several songs completed. No word on when they will be recording or a title for the new album.

Deceased will be releasing a new live album. No word on a release date, but probably not until next year.

Angra's new album "Fireworks" Japan release includes a bonus track, "Rainy Nights." The song will also appear on an upcoming EP that will be released in March or April of '99.

Annihilator is currently writing new material for the next their next album. No other information is available at this time.

Blind Guardian will be playing six shows in Japan in early October before heading out for a tour of Europe on October 18. A North American tour is expected to follow. Check our page for dates.

Gwar is currently writing new material for a new album that is expected for release in April of next year. A US tour has been scheduled and will kick off October 19. Thirteen dates have been confirmed with the Misfits opening the first six and then they will join The Insane Clown Posse on their "Hello Wicked" tour for the remainder of their shows.

Helloween is in Europe for a tour that started earlier this month and runs through mid October. Check our page for dates.

     I have to say that I've waited the longest time to see Anthrax in concert and last Sunday it finally became a reality. Throughout my metal years I couldn't because I was either too young, no car, or no money (especially now a days, thats what college does to ya).    

When my buddy and I got there we were a little late so we missed most of the opening act. I don't know if you've heard of, them Grinspoon, they're allright. I really didn't like the vocals, but I've got to give them credit for coming out and playing. You see they're from Australia and their record label wouldn't pay for them to come to the states and they paid from their own pockets. You've got to appreciate  that.     

Then it was Vision Of Disorder, which really kicked ass. I think they had the longest set for the opening bands that night. I never heard these guys either, but I'm real glad I did, cause they jammed just like System Of A Down and Snot did at the ol' Soulfly concert awhile back. They definetly had the same kind of vibe but of course their own style. They really got the crowd going.     

Next was Life of Agony, which I really didn't care much for, but they did have some moments. I've got to give credit for the singer seeing that he used to sing for Ugly Kid Joe. It's definetly a step up for him. He really showed me his vocal talents. Probably the best thing about LOA's set was Charlie coming out and jamming a couple of tunes with them. Not to mention after his little appearance my meeting up with him at the back of the stage and shaking his hand, man what a feeling to meet a member of one of the best thrash bands around.   

Next was Anthrax, which of course really kicked major ass!!! It was great before they played, cause they had the Blues Brothers theme song playing in the background, then they ripped into their set. I can't really tell you their newer songs but I must say every song they played rocked. I really wanted to see them play the older tunes since I grew up listening to those more than anything. They played a really cool medley with "Among the Living," "Caught in a Mosh," "Armed and Dangerous," and "I'm the Man." They also played three of my favorites from Sound of White Noise: "Black Lodge," "Hy Pro Glo," and "Only." They also did the famous "Bring the Noise," "Starting Up a Posse," and a little homage to the greats Black Sabbath playing none other than "Black Sabbath." They also played some new stuff like "Inside Out." I must say I was a little bummed that I didn't see the Not Man and they didn't play "Anti-Social," but overall I give Anthrax a definite fist in the air. I hope they come around again soon here in Michigan cause I'll definetly try and catch them.
